Anyone wishing to audition will sign up for an audition time using the link below. Hour time slots will be available for you to select. There will be a maximum of 15 people in one hour time slot.
Once you have submitted your application, you will be sent an email confirming your audition time, and will be sent a link to a dance audition. *If you do not receive an email within two business days, please contact us at email@example.com* Please submit a video of the student completing the dance audition. All auditioning students must submit a dance audition by August 20. You can either have the video on one device, and record the student watching it with another device, or the student can memorize the dance. This video will only be shown to our production crew. The purpose of this video is not to see who is the greatest ballerina or most intricate dancer. It is only to assess the overall coachable-ness and mobility of the cast. We are looking for good smiles and to show us that you tried. We will also ask you to submit a headshot. These will be used for promotional purposed during the show. This does not have to be a professional headshot, just a nice, high quality picture of the student or adult by themselves.
The in-person section of the audition will be held at the Academie building. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to check in. You will be asked to sing a song less than 90 seconds in the style of the show. You may bring an accompaniment track, provide an accompanist, or sing acapella. Once everyone has sung, you will be asked to do a cold reading from the show. Keep in mind that the directors may have you read for roles that have already been cast in order for the directors to gain a better understanding of your acting skills.
The cast list will be posted by August 23.
