Suzuki Guitar is initially based on the student modeling the teacher, finding the proper hand placement, memorizing repertoire, and intense listening. Following Dr. Suzuki’s premise that little children first learn their language before they learn to read. The teacher is responsible to provide a good teaching environment where the student can flourish. Method and technique are taught through repertoire.
Traditional guitar for beginners through advanced is offered to students ranging in age from 6 to adults. Popular guitar books published by Mel Bay, Hal Leonard, Berklee School of Music, etc. are used.
Bass and Jazz Guitar
Beginning Bass guitar instruction is offered for players age 11 and up. Basic fingering, 1st position notes, right-hand picking techniques, and scale patterns are taught at this level.
Jazz guitar is taught by a Temple College professor. Teacher recommendations are preferred.
